Watch right after the rifleman commercial at aprox. 56 second mark and again later in the video.

"UFO highlights from the 10-28-79 Dallas Cowboys @ Pittsburgh Steelers game. Nationally broadcast and 52,000 stadium witnesses. They announcers broke into the toy gun commercial to show this. And later had to repeat the commercial due to this. The video was cut prior to commercials to prove authenticity. "

They've got to be the weirdest UFO's I've ever seen!!

This video is quite interesting since it features a pair of UFO’s maneuvering together in broad daylight on Network TV, no less! What I found even more interesting is that their behavior almost seems to correspond to the frame rate!

The NTSC standard for broadcast (given that the video was originally taken by a network TV camera) is 30 frames per second. The FLV version on YouTube was 29.97, but this is close enough to 30 to make little difference. Each frame is taken 1/30th of a second after the previous one.

So, here’s 4 consecutive frames from a random start point in the distant-shot video at the end of the first YouTube video…



The 2 UFO’s blinked “on and off”, alternating perfectly with each other, from frame to frame… 15 times per second! If this is indicative of a rotation rate it would be 900 RPM!!

In the next sequence taken from the closeup near the beginning of the video, I’ve shown 5 consecutive frames… watch the features on the left-hand UFO…



The left-hand UFO appears to do a complete rotation every 4 frames… or 7.5 rotations a second, which is 450 RPM!! This is half the blink rate, and may indicate 2 flashes per rotation, though the flashes aren’t noticeable in the close-ups.

When you watch the video, notice how rock-solid the shots are… no camera jitter at all!!

Hmm... turns out that this is (apparently) a pair of kites made to look like UFO's...

Ah, I imagine all of us were hopeful - I know I was - but I could not help but wonder what a passenger would look like after zooming around at such a rotation speed!

I started to move this to the hoax section, but I want to wait just a bit so that everyone has a chance to see this. WIth so much attention that has come up regarding this, I imagine there will be similar 'craft' in our skies over the summer. Job well done, C!

Wasn't that something that Jackie puts it up, then the TV station explains what it was....32 years later!!
Just goes to show show some mysteries can remain that for such a long time.....

Let's hope we find out the truth behind the mysteries of other UFO's soon....:-)
