Signal In The Noise Presents: Farewell, Comet Swan

Post  Jackie (Admin) on Fri Mar 16, 2012 2:32 am

Comet Swan was discovered March 8 by the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) spacecraft operated by NASA and the European Space Agency. The comet takes its still-informal name from SOHO's Solar Wind Anisotropies, or SWAN, instrument.

On March 15th, 2012, Comet Swan plunged into the sun and was gone.

This is a salute to the passing of a small mystery of our universe, and the dream of others still to come...

Enjoy ~*~
