For anyone interested in the official NASA-produced movies of the Apollo program, you may be disappointed to discover that there are no movies (RM format) at the links on the NASA site.

http://lunar.arc.nasa.gov/archives/moviesa.htm

Fortunately, the NASA Lunar Science Institute (NLSI) has re-issued the movies in MP4 format at twice the frame-size, each with a short introduction, in a series called “As It Happened: How We Went to the Moon”. They have posted them at 640x480 in size on Vimeo.

Note that these are relatively big files, but Vimeo’s download rate is great, so they should be quite smooth playing.

Here are the links:

Apollo 7 “As it Happened: Apollo 7” 16:24 minutes
http://vimeo.com/4756071

Apollo 8 “Go for TLI” 22:21 minutes
http://vimeo.com/4985913

Apollo 9 “Three to Make Ready” 18:43 minutes
http://vimeo.com/5204623

Apollo 10 “To Sort out the Unknowns” 27:10 minutes
http://vimeo.com/5415277

Apollo 11 “For All Mankind” 35:35 minutes
http://vimeo.com/5612698

Apollo 12 “Pinpoint for Science” 30:03 minutes
http://vimeo.com/5826005

Apollo 13 “Houston We've Got a Problem” 29:39 minutes
http://vimeo.com/6073025

Apollo 14 “Mission to Fra Mauro” 29:37 minutes
http://vimeo.com/6284193

Apollo 15 “In the Mountains of the Moon” 28:50 minutes
http://vimeo.com/6504028

Apollo 16 “Nothing so Hidden...” 29:43 minutes
http://vimeo.com/6724565

Apollo 17 “On the Shoulders of Giants” 29:50 minutes
http://vimeo.com/6953576

You can just pick your favorite mission to watch, but in order to get the proper feel and perspective of the history and accomplishments of the Apollo program, it is better if you watch the videos in chronological order.

Enjoy!
