The Cobra from the Youtube video

Hi,

If you could, please tell me which portion of the original picture the "Cobra" is located in. I have been going over the picture for some time now and have been unable to find it. Also, please verify that the image is supposed to to be flipped since flipping it from the way it is posted on the LRO website (http:**wms.lroc.asu.edu/lroc/view_lroc/LRO-L-LROC-2-EDR-V1.0/M117623609RE) puts all of the shadows pointing in the opposite direction from the video. Thanks.

Hello Option61c, and welcome to the board!!

It’s good to hear from someone using the online LROC tools like Zoomify, but this tool presents the IMG’s ‘as is’, and does not correct the IMG for proper orientation. This can make it extremely difficult to find something in an IMG when you have an IMG at correct orientation to work from for comparison purposes.

You will see the latitude and longitude information for the image in the column to the left of the Zoomify image, and this tells you the IMG orientation. In the case of the one that you’re interested in, Option61c, it is flipped North-South, with South at the top of the image.

With the image in that orientation, the Cobra is about a third of the way up from the bottom of the image, on a light-colored ridge on the right side. He will be upside-down, and it will be hard to recognize him.
