New LROC Release + Mars Viewer at JMars
LROC Release
People might be interested to know that NASA uploaded another 66,000 LROC NAC’s this week.

I’ve done a quick run-through of the areas that I’m interested in (which is most of the areas that were posted on Magic), and there are very few new NAC’s in these areas… and none, of course, of the farside ship (once again!) I find it quite suspicious that it hasn’t been targeted for a high-res NAC!! Anyway, I did download a new pair of NAC’s of the crater Copernicus!

I’m not that much into looking for anomalies on Mars, partly because of the large number of garbage videos of mini-dinosaurs, etc, out there on the subject, but there are an enormous number of images of Mars available online.
One resource that I haven’t really used, but looks awesome, is a viewer similar to the online LROC NAC viewer, though it looks much more versatile (and more complicated) than Zoomify. The software can be also downloaded for Windows, MAC, Linux, etc (53 MB for Windows) from the following URL. There are even tutorials, etc, on this site (JMars). Does this mean that they’ve done it right for once?

An example of an image loaded in the software is here:

It looks like ASU is the place to go for viewing and downloading planetary images these days!!
